Browse practical starting points by topic. Compatibility and service availability depend on the installed equipment and project.
Helpful notes about smart home
What should I include in a smart-home support request?
Tell us which room or system is affected, what you expected to happen, when the issue began and whether anything changed recently. Include equipment names only if you know them; do not send passwords, alarm codes or private access links.
Can different systems work together?
It depends on the exact models, software, network and configuration. Texotec checks manufacturer compatibility and your installed equipment before confirming an integration or upgrade.
I am planning a renovation. When should I contact Texotec?
Early planning is helpful—especially before walls close. Share drawings, timing and the rooms involved so wiring, network locations, lighting controls, audio, cameras and shades can be considered together.
Helpful notes about audio & video
Why is there no sound or picture?
Note which source and display are involved and whether the issue affects one room or several. Check that equipment has power and note any message on screen; avoid changing wiring or factory-resetting equipment before support reviews it.
Can Texotec help plan a home theatre?
Yes. Room dimensions, seating, ambient light, acoustics, screen placement and equipment choices all influence the plan. Product selection and installation scope are confirmed for each project.
Can I add whole-home audio later?
Often it can be planned as a future phase, but wiring, network capacity, equipment and existing control systems affect what is practical. A site and compatibility review can identify the options.
Helpful notes about networking
What details help diagnose a Wi-Fi issue?
Share the affected room, device type, approximate time, whether wired devices are also affected and any recent service or equipment changes. Never include router passwords in an ordinary support request.
Will adding access points always improve Wi-Fi?
Not necessarily. Placement, building materials, interference, backhaul and the existing network design matter. A coverage and equipment review is more reliable than adding devices without a plan.
What is structured wiring used for?
Structured wiring provides planned cable paths and connection points for networks, access points, cameras, audio-video and other low-voltage systems. The suitable layout depends on the property and intended equipment.
Helpful notes about security & cameras
What should I provide about an alarm or camera issue?
Describe the device or area, the exact symptom and when it occurs. For alarm events or urgent safety concerns, follow your monitoring provider’s instructions and contact emergency services when appropriate.
Can I view cameras remotely?
Remote viewing depends on the camera system, recorder, network, account configuration and current manufacturer support. Texotec can review the installed system and advise on available options.
Can existing cameras or alarm devices be reused?
Possibly. Compatibility, condition, wiring, firmware, ownership and configuration all matter. Share model details or clear photos of labels through an approved support channel for review.
